Early Life

Comrade Kyrian Uchenna hails from Obizi in Ezinihite Local Government Area of Imo State. He was born on the 10th of April, 1975 as the third child to the family of Mr. Ibe Hillary Osuagwu and Mrs. Ngozi Ebegbulem.

While growing up his father, a former Nigerian Airways staff, a devote Catholic and a strict disciplinarian, created a strong bond among all his children; making them to love, respect and have empathy for one another and growing up with the sense of responsibility not just to their individual needs but that of others around them.

His father was very deliberate in instilling in his children core values like integrity, truthfulness, dignity of labour, contentment and love for their igbo race and culture.

Education

Kyrian did not allow the odds of either his humble beginning or the death of his father in his teenage days to truncate his quest for education. The academic success story of Barrister Kyrian is akin to the resilient, resourceful, dogged and do-it-yourself success story of the average igbo man. Kyrian had his primary education and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate at Local Government Primary School after which he had his Secondary school education at Bolade Grammar School, Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos. He is a man who understood from quite a young age the vital role education plays in giving the human capital adequate competence and needed capacity to make meaningful contribution to personal and communal economic development and well-being.

His philosophy of “education as the master key” was the driving force against all odds in furthering his education to tertiary institution. He obtained his Ordinary National Diploma in Mass Communication and Higher National Diploma in Public Administration from Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra and went on to obtain his second degree in law, i.e. Bachelor of Law, in June 2008 from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State. He was later called to the prestigious Bar after his one year education at the Nigerian Law School in 2009.

Politics

Kyrian Uchenna Ibe is not a neophyte when it comes to politics. He has been very active right from his days in the higher institution of learning. Beyond the days of playing school politics, he is a young man driven with passion; passion to add value to the lives of people around him.

Observations have shown that government at different levels does not value the citizens and that is why other Nations do not value us either. Nigerians are suffering both within and outside the shores of our Country. The citizens have lost hope in the government and in governance and that is why it is difficult to and patriotic Nigerians anywhere.

The question is, “how can we do it better, how can the citizens feel the impact of government?” For Kyrian Uchenna Ibe, the purpose of government is to take care of the people’s welfare; the people deserve a responsible and responsive government that is willing to secure the lives, property of the people and not leaving out the social welfare of the people. Democracy is said to be government of the people, by the people and for the people. It follows that government is about the people and not for those in power. However, experience has shown that the reverse has been the case. citizens, you can take his word to the bank.

Hence his mission statement, “we are out to run a government of integrity for the common good of our humanity and respect for divinity”

Family Life

Kyrian is a homely and family oriented man and understands the role of family as a social institution in upholding values, norms and engineering social and economic change. Comrade Kyrian has the full support of his family in the pursuit of the vision to govern Imo State. His wife and family have got his back.

Kyrian believes that government should be all about the people and not about the political office holders. So he is getting involved in the process of returning the government back to its original owners, “we the people”. He is running for the office of the Governor of Imo State in the 2019 general elections under the platform of Democratic People’s Congress, (DPC) to open new frontiers in governance for Imolites, which currently is the heart beat of Imolites. If he tells you that his four years in Office would reverse the great regression in the State, reboot large economic potential of the State, and unleash the longest stretch of job creation in the history of Imo State and secure affordable health services for our people.
